What septic work costs around Oklahoma City

Septic pumping, aerobic service and repair help across Oklahoma, Cleveland and Canadian counties(405) 546-2064

Contractors in the metro set their own prices, and we don't publish them or quote on their behalf. What we can do is show the two parts of the bill that are knowable ahead of time: the state's own fees, which are written into the rules, and the specific things that push a contractor's quote up or down.

Oklahoma DEQ base fees

These come from OAC 252:641-23-1. They were set effective July 1, 2012, and the rule adjusts them every July 1 by the change in the Consumer Price Index, so the amount you pay today can be higher. Confirm the current figure with DEQ before you budget.

DEQ serviceBase fee in the rule
Soil profile description, DEQ augers the holes$250
Soil profile description, you provide the pits$150
Authorization for a new system up to 1,500 gal/day, certified self-inspecting installer$250
Same, installer not certified to self-inspect$350
New system over 1,500 gal/day$450
Authorization to modify a system, certified installer$150
Same, installer not certified$250
Plan review for an alternative system$200
Existing system evaluation report$250

A few notes from the same chapter: the fees are non-refundable; DEQ may waive them for indigent applicants and nonprofits; and a soil profile DEQ performs while investigating a complaint about a failing system carries no fee. Notice the gap between certified and uncertified installers: hiring a self-inspecting certified installer lowers the state's share of a new system or a modification.

Frequently asked

How much does septic pumping cost in Oklahoma City?

It depends on tank size, how hard the lids are to reach, how overdue the tank is and the distance to your place. The pumper sets the price, so get it before they start.

Are DEQ's septic fees refundable?

No. The rule says fees in the chapter are non-refundable.

Is an aerobic system more expensive to own?

DEQ's own comparison rates aerobic systems as costing more to install and more to maintain each year than conventional systems, because of the pumps, air supply and disinfection.
